Poll Highlights
This poll was conducted from December 2-19, 2019, with results released in December 2019 and January 2020. The poll asked Virginians for their perspectives on:
- Motivation to vote
- Support for presidential candidates
- Gun control
- Higher education tuition
Virginians share their thoughts on key policy issues
53%
Support stricter gun laws
66%
Support increased school funding
63%
Favor free community college
23%
See the economy as a top reason for voting
Our latest poll numbers suggest, as I have long maintained, that Virginia is a ‘must watch’ state. The issue of stronger gun laws is illustrative of the need for advocates at every level, to be involved, including public safety, health, housing, and education groups to demonstrate the need for change if such exists.
Governor L. Douglas Wilder
Former Governor of Virginia
